Wellness Ministry: Healing for Body, Mind, and Spirit

At FBCWellness, we recognize the deep pain and suffering that many in our community face. As Jeremiah lamented, “I weep for the hurt of my people; I stand amazed, silent, dumb with grief.” We understand that in today’s world, many Americans struggle with health conditions greatly impacted by lifestyle behaviors.

Our Wellness Ministry aims to address both the visible and invisible challenges faced by our community:

  • Holistic Approach to Health

We focus on the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. Our programs target the seven key areas of frailty that often affect seniors:

    - Physical: Improving strength, balance, and endurance

    - Cognitive: Enhancing memory and concentration

    - Social: Fostering connections and support systems

    - Nutritional: Promoting healthy eating habits

    - Psychological: Addressing emotional well-being

    - Religious: Nurturing spiritual growth and purpose

-Financial: Supporting financial wellness and stability

  • Lifestyle Interventions

We provide education and support for making positive lifestyle changes that can significantly impact health outcomes:

    - Engaging in consistent moderate exercise

    - Smoking cessation and addiction recovery

    - Promoting a diet high in fiber and low in fat

    - Increasing social support

    - Actively managing stress

    -Financial planning and budgeting workshops

  • Addressing Hidden Struggles

Our ministry recognizes that many suffer silently from invisible ailments such as loneliness, hopelessness, and depression. We create a safe space where people can unmask their pain and find support without fear of judgment.

  • Community of Healing

Through our programs like Kaufman Connect, we offer nutritious meals, activities, and opportunities for social interaction. We believe in the power of community to foster healing and resilience. At FBCWellness, we strive to be the “balm in Gilead” for our community, offering hope, support, and practical pathways to better health and wholeness. Join us in our mission to improve lives and build a healthier, more resilient community.
